Data connections in CONNECT provide the essential bridge between your industrial data sources and the CONNECT platform. These services enable you to seamlessly collect data from various industrial systems and bring it into CONNECT, where it can be stored, processed, and analyzed.

Industrial environments typically involve multiple data sources and protocols, the Data Connections category supports the following connectivity options, giving you flexibility in how you bring your industrial data into CONNECT:

• Adapters - software products that collect real-time, time-series data from industrial assets and devices using various communication protocols.

• Agents - software products that connect to other AVEVA products, including the PI System.

• Data Pipeline - a deployed service instance connection to Engineering data.

• Edge Data Store - a lightweight data collection and storage application designed to capture data at the edge of networks for historical storage and analysis.

• Flows - an industrial DataOps and edge analytics solution that connects machines, automates workflows, and integrates factory-floor data with cloud environments.

• Custom OMF applications - your own application using OMF for a tailored integration to an external system and send it to an OMF-compatible endpoint such as CONNECT or AVEVA PI Server.
