Role definitions

Your CONNECT account includes preconfigured roles for common user personas. CONNECT organizes these preconfigured roles into logical groups based on the type of access each role grants. These roles cannot be deleted.

Solution roles

• Viewer: Provides read-only access to data, visualizations, experiences, and AI-powered insights. Assign this role to any user whose primary need is to monitor and consume operational information, such as plant managers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.

• Analyst: Allows users to create and publish calculations, visualizations, and experiences in addition to consuming them. Assign this role to engineers and analysts who investigate operational data and need to publish findings for their teams.

• Application Developer: Allows users to build and manage custom applications and visualization interfaces for CONNECT using APIs and web development tools. Assign this role to internal developers or citizen developers creating tailored solutions for specific operational needs.

• Solution Builder: Provides full capability to configure integrations, build solutions, and create and manage all platform content. Assign this role to system integrators or internal technical leads responsible for designing and delivering the complete platform solution.

Note: Some features described in these roles will be available in a future release, including dashboards (currently named visualizations), private dashboards and experiences, map layers, and forms.

• Content Viewer:

  • View your own private dashboards and experiences.

  • View public dashboards and experiences.

  • View content tags, map layers, and forms.

• Content Contributor:

  • View your own private dashboards and experiences.

  • View public dashboards and experiences.

  • Create, edit, and delete your own private dashboards.

  • Create, edit, and delete public dashboards.

  • View content tags and map layers.

  • View, create, edit, and delete forms.

• Content Builder:

  • View, create, edit, and delete your own private dashboards and experiences.

  • View, create, edit, and delete public dashboards and experiences.

  • View and edit content tags.

  • View, create, edit, and delete map layers.

  • View, create, edit, and delete forms.

• Content Administrator:

  • View all private dashboards and experiences, including your own and those created by others.

  • Change ownership of any private dashboards and experiences created by others.

  • Create, edit, and delete your own private dashboards and experiences.

  • Create, edit, and delete public dashboards and experiences.

  • View and edit content tags.

  • View, create, edit, and delete map layers.

  • View, create, edit, and delete forms.
