Configure pane properties

Select the pane you want to configure, then set its properties on the Basic and Advanced tabs.
Basic tab

Content tags: A pane can automatically populate with a visualization based on the content tag and the navigation item's asset reference. To populate this pane automatically, select the desired content tags. For more details, see Add content to panes in your navigation items.

Content fill: Select from the following:

Fixed: The content that is selected in this pane is the same throughout the experience. If you select this option, add content to the pane.

Autofill: Content autofills in this pane per the behavior selected in the navigation item's auto-fill settings.

Name: The name for the pane. This is not displayed to viewers. The name cannot include more than 32 characters and must be unique. It cannot include a space or special characters other than # or _.
If the name is invalid, it will be discarded and replaced with the previous name.

Pane type: Defaults to Single. To add tabs, change to Tabbed. For more information about tabbed panes, see Add and organize panes and Add content to panes in your navigation items.
You can also change the pane type by selecting Pane Type near the top of the page, then selecting Tabbed.

Background: The color of the background. Select
to choose a color, or enter the hex value for the color, and desired opacity.

Padding: Enter the amount of padding in pixels on the right, left, top, and bottom of the pane.

Enable Hierarchy Navigation: Enable navigation of the experience hierarchy in this pane. When enabled, tab-style buttons appear at the top and bottom of this pane when a viewer runs the experience. Selecting the buttons navigates up and down through sibling navigation items in the hierarchy.
Note that although navigation occurs within the pane, the viewer is navigating between navigation items in the hierarchy.
Advanced tab

Height/Width: This property appears when the pane is split.
Height appears if the pane is split horizontally.
Width appears if the the pane is split vertically.
Enter the size in pixels. The Aspect Ratio property adjusts automatically as you change the height or width.

Width Sizing/Height Sizing: Select whether sizing is fixed, or if it adjusts automatically based on the pane contents.

Hide Column When Empty: When enabled, the pane's containing column will be hidden if all panes in the column are empty at runtime.

Hide Row When Empty: When enabled, the pane's containing row will be hidden if all panes in the row are empty at runtime.

Display mode: The method for resizing content when a viewer changes the size of a pane during runtime.

Content alignment: How content is aligned in the pane.

Interaction mode: Leave this at the default None. The Pan and Zoom option is not supported.

Can close tabs: This property appears when the Pane type is set to Tabbed. If enabled, a close (X) button appears on each tab in a tabbed pane, allowing viewers to close tabs while viewing the experience.

Maximum items: This property appears when the Pane type is set to Tabbed. Sets the maximum number of tabs the pane can have, including both manual and autofill tabs. The maximum value is 20.
