Content presents your data in an easily understandable format such as a chart, graph, or gauge. Content is added to experiences and visualizations. Each experience and visualization can include multiple content items.
Add content to an experience or visualization
-
In edit mode for an experience or visualization, select Add content.
The add content dialog opens.
-
Select the tab for the type of content you are adding:
-
If you are adding a content item, select the Create new tab, then select the category of content you'd like to add:
-
Asset Information - Includes content items that display asset properties, documents, and 3D models.
-
Event Visualization - Includes event-related content.
-
Other - Includes content items that don't fit into other categories, such as a map and integrations with external products. If you are adding content to an experience, this category also includes experience-specific content items.
-
Visualization - Displays time-series data as graphical elements or trends. Typically used for monitoring and control content.
-
-
If you are adding a graphic, select the Graphics tab, then select the graphic to add.
-
If you are adding an existing visualization, select Browse existing, then select the visualization to add. The visualizations available vary depending on what you are adding content to:
-
Any type of visualization can be added to an experience.
-
Only canvas visualizations can be added to grid visualizations.
-
Existing visualizations cannot be added to canvas visualizations.
-
-
-
Select the Select button.
-
Configure the content's properties. For details, see the documentation section for the content you selected.
If you selected an isometric graphic, note that it doesn't have properties to configure; isometric graphics are static images.
Note: Content items and graphics update their data at different intervals. Graphics update when a new value is received. The status board content item updates every 30 seconds. All other content items (content that is not in the graphics category) update every 60 seconds. This may result in discrepancies when visualizing the most recent data in a time period.
