We recommend that you establish a share between CONNECT and your third-party analytics platform before you create a virtual table.

To create a share, perform the following steps:

In the left pane, select Data modeling > Virtual Tables.
Select the Shares tab.
Select Create share.
Select the drop-down and choose from where you want to share your data.

Proceed to subheading for your selection.

Complete the following steps after you select Databricks from the drop-down.

Select Next.
In the Name box, enter a name for your share.

Names may only contain upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and underscores. Incorrectly formatted share names will cause the virtual table assignment to fail.
Copy your Databricks sharing identifier from your Databricks instance and paste it into the Sharing identifier box.

The Databricks sharing identifier is in a <provider>:<region>:<metastoreid> format such as azure:westus:f12dcb34-5678-9d4c-1234-c5ac67f8b90a.
Select Create.

Complete the following steps after you select Snowflake from the drop-down.

Select Next.
In the Name box, enter a name for your share.

Names may only contain upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and underscores. Incorrectly formatted share names will cause the virtual table assignment to fail.
Your token will expire in 365 days. Review the token expiration notice, then select Next.
Copy the provided qualified share name, bearer token, and Iceberg endpoint for use in Snowflake. You can copy these individually or export all of them at once into a JSON.

Important: You cannot access these fields after you create your share. Save all values before continuing.
Select Close.

Complete the following steps after you select OpenSharing from the drop-down.

Select Next.
In the Name box, enter a name for your share.

Names may only contain upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and underscores. Incorrectly formatted share names will cause the virtual table assignment to fail.
Your token will expire in 365 days. Review the token expiration notice, then select Next.
Copy the provided qualified share name, bearer token, and delta endpoint for use with OpenSharing. You can copy these individually or export all of them at once into a JSON.

Important: You cannot access these fields after you create your share. Save all values before continuing.
Select Close.

Complete the following steps after you select Iceberg Catalog from the drop-down.
Select Next.
In the Name box, enter a name for your share.

Names may only contain upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and underscores. Incorrectly formatted share names will cause the virtual table assignment to fail.
Your token will expire in 365 days. Review the token expiration notice, then select Next.
Copy the provided qualified share name, bearer token, and Iceberg endpoint for use with the Iceberg catalog. You can copy these individually or export all of them at once into a JSON.

Important: You cannot access these fields after you create your share. Save all values before continuing.
Select Close.
