Service and application management

On the Services and applications page, you can create, organize, and use service instances. In practice, the goal is simple: go to the page, create the instance you need, and use the applications that come with it. After you create an instance, you can return to it from the page, open its applications, and keep working with it as your needs change.

On this page, you typically:

• Create service instances for your account.

• Open the applications that belong to an instance.

• Update or delete instances as your needs change.

You can also use folders to organize instances by site, team, project, or any other grouping that makes sense for your account.

Service instances

A service instance is a specific, working copy of a service for your account. You create it when you want to use that service for your own data, configuration, and users. It is the resource you create, update, organize, or delete for that service in your account, and you can place it in a folder if you want to group it with related items. Service instances let you add services to your account in smaller pieces. For example, you might create a Data Views service instance for a plant team, a Calculation Management service instance for analysis, or a Data Pipeline service instance to move data between systems. That means you can choose the services that help you work with your data, instead of taking on everything at once.
