Manage communities

A community is a business relationship between two or more CONNECT accounts.

The Communities functionality in CONNECT enables you to view and share CONNECT services with other accounts.

This creates benefits for both the sharer and recipient of the services.

  • Benefits for the sharer:

    • Share your services with other account users without using any other medium.

    • Work directly on the live data together in the shared space.

    • View the service activities from any account.

  • Benefits for the recipient:

    • Use the services from another account.

    • Easy to collaborate and interact with other accounts.

    • Save time while working in this user-friendly interface.

    • View the service activities from any account.

Important: Using communities involves collaboration across accounts, including the sharing of potentially sensitive data. Ensure that the services and data you share are suitable, and familiarize yourself with this documentation before using the feature.

Characteristics of communities:

  • Control: Controls who participates within a community, and what services are shared.

  • Relationship: Connects between two or more CONNECT accounts.

  • Privacy: Ensures privacy and confidentiality of the organizational data of all community members.

  • Collaboration: Enables you to view and edit real-time data between different accounts and collaborate together.

  • Summary Report: Provides a detailed audit report relating to the service level transactions between different accounts.

Why communities matter

For example, there are two CONNECT accounts of different organizations having their specific services assigned to various users. You can use the community option to share the services between these two accounts, meaning they can interact and collaborate together.

After creating a community, you (as an owner account) can invite the other account to the community. You can then add a service to the community, and the invited account is able to use that service too.

The following diagram shows how two CONNECT accounts interact and collaborate with their services using community:
