Check that thread and model resources are in use

Over time, duplicate threads and models may exist in your environment. For example, before a resource enters production you may choose to duplicate it to test and troubleshoot certain functionality.
When you move a thread or model into production we recommend you ensure only items in use are marked as active. All other items should be deleted or marked as inactive so they no longer contribute towards AA units.
Start by reviewing your overall consumption, and once overall resource consumption has been checked, you should review consumption for specific threads and models to check for duplication and redundancy.
Review overall consumption
-
Select Launchpad in the navigation rail and locate the Organization section.
-
Select Subscription Management.
Note: You will need the Billing policy to view this page.
The statistics on this page will update once per hour and do not update in real-time. Be aware that marking an object as inactive will not automatically be reflected by a change to the count.
-
Select each row in the Sub Organizations list.
-
You are presented with a list of twins and the resources associated with each organization, ready for review.
Review thread consumption
-
Select Launchpad in the navigation rail and locate the Thread Builder section.
-
Select Threads.
-
Check the Is Active column for each thread.

-
Determine if any active threads need to be deactivated.
-
(Optional) Check the Instances column for any threads with a number greater than zero. If these threads reference a class instead of a specific twin in the Applies To column there will be an instance of the thread associated with each twin in the class.
If you want all potential threads to be inactive, you must deactivate each of the instances. To do this:
-
Select a thread.
-
Select the Viewing dropdown in the toolbar, and change the view to Instances.
-
The list of instances is displayed.
-
Deactivate the desired instances.
-
-
Repeat the process for your remaining projects with threads.
Review model consumption
-
Select Launchpad in the navigation rail and locate the Model Factory section.
-
Select Models. Use the Active? column to verify the status of displayed models.
By default, only active models are shown. Select Show Inactive Models in the toolbar to show inactive models too.
-
Determine if any models need to be deactivated or activated.
-
Once the list of active models has been established, review the individual model configurations to determine if any topics should be deactivated or activated:
-
Select a model to view its Quick Start page.
-
Refer to the What data does this model use? panel. All model topics are listed here.

-
Activate or deactivate your desired topics.
-
To review how the topics are associated with the model, select the Add Data step in the model set up wizard. You can review the current configuration.
