Understand Flex credits and AVEVA Advanced Analytics

AVEVA Advanced Analytics consumes Flex credits based on a metric called AA units. The number of AA units is the sum of:

  • The count of active model topics. One model topic is equivalent to one AA unit.

    • Model topics consist of inputs, events, and outputs from all active models. These are also referred to as Advanced Items within the subscription management page of an AVEVA Advanced Analytics tenant.

  • The count of active threads (calculations), divided by four.

Note: AA units must be a whole number and always round up.

For example, if your usage includes six active model topics, and ten active threads, this would be equivalent to nine total AA units.

How are the credits charged?

When you purchase AVEVA Advanced Analytics you are subscribed to a Flex part number, this represents a preset number of AA units.

Each part number corresponds to a credit cost per month. Your usage is not reported directly to CONNECT, instead there is a fixed reduction of the credit cost for the subscribed part number at the beginning of each month.

AVEVA reviews your usage each month and compares that to the subscribed part numbers. If your usage of AVEVA Advanced Analytics exceeds the subscribed AA units amount, a member of the account team will reach out to discuss increasing your AA unit allowance, or offer guidance on how to evaluate your usage.
