Back up your source Data Archive

Before you decommission your source Data Archive, you must create a backup of the source Data Archive.

• Run the pidiag utility from the ..\PI\adm directory:

  pidiag -backup backupdir -numarch 1 -arcdir -wait -type COPY

Note: In the code example, backupdir is a temporary backup directory that is not the same as your normal backup directory. You should replace backupdir with the actual file path that you want the backup to be placed. For example: C:\Documents\PITemporaryBackup. Although the primary archive is backed up with this command, the purpose of this step is to back up non-archive files. The non-archive files are copied from the temporary backup directory in a later step.
