Note: Migration of PI AF data to the cloud should be done after a successful upgrade to AF Server 2024 R2.

This section provides instructions on how to migrate on-prem PI AF SQL data to one of the supported cloud database platforms:

  • Microsoft Azure SQL Database

  • Microsoft Azure Managed Instance

  • Amazon RDS for SQL Server

The migration method varies based on the chosen cloud database platform.

The method for migrating on-prem PI AF data depends on the chosen cloud database platform and your organization's preferred approach. The following table lists the migration methods for each supported cloud database platform.
