Install Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime for screenshots

Data privacy note: The WebView2 SDK component of Microsoft Edge WebView2 is redistributed with PI Notifications Service 2024 R2. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, a WebView2 feature, is not disabled in PI Notifications Service 2024 R2. The Microsoft Defender SmartScreen feature collects and transmits user information to Microsoft as detailed in the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Microsoft Edge Privacy Whitepaper. The screenshot feature in PI Notifications 2024 R2 requires the Evergreen version of Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. The browser is not installed with PI Notifications 2024 R2. Only the following versions of the WebView2 Runtime can be used:

• Evergreen Bootstrapper

• Evergreen Standalone Installer

Download WebView2 Runtime, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation. You can skip this step if you do not plan to use the screenshot feature.

Note: If you install WebView2 Runtime after PI Notifications Service, restart the PI Notifications Service for changes to take effect. Notifications can still be sent without the WebView2 browser, but screenshots will not be attached to emails.
