The following table provides a list of installation recommendations and guidelines for AVEVA PI Server 2024 R2.

For production systems, Data Archive 2024 R2 can be deployed on the following Microsoft Windows Server operating systems in decreasing order of recommendation:

If you are not installing a collective, there will be a single Data Archive server name. See Record the Data Archive server names. |

Data Archive server name - secondary |
If you are deploying your Data Archive in a collective. See Record the Data Archive server names. |

Do not use %PISERVER%\dat. Do not use the drive where PI event queues are stored. Make sure that the location of the Archive directory contains enough free space to create three archives.
