Check the version

Check the version of your newly installed Data Archive as part of verification.

1. To check Data Archive version with SMT:

   1. Click Start > All Programs > PI System > PI System Management Tools.

   2. Select a PI Server in the Servers and Collectives pane.

   3. Select Operation > PI Version in the System Management Tools pane.

   Note: In addition to displaying the version of Data Archive, the version for each related PI subsystem are also listed. The version numbers for the various PI subsystems may differ, depending on the version of your Data Archive. Consider using the pidiag -v command to display the build number of the PI Data Archive without listing any PI subsystems.

2. To check Data Archive version with the piversion utility:

   1. Open a command prompt window.

   2. Go to the %PISERVER%\adm directory.

   3. At the command prompt, type: piversion -v.
