Learn about the importance of removing user account privileges

A part of the install process was ensuring that your Windows user account had administrator-level privileges, or a member of the local Windows administrators group.

Now that you have finished with the installation on your host computer, it is important from a security standpoint to remove that user account from the administrator group. This complies with security best practices regarding assigning least privilege for users.

Note: Some PI SMT plugins require administrative-level privileges. Ensure your deployment is not running any plugins or other components that require such privileges before modifying your user account privileges.

Remove or request your user account to be removed from the local Windows administrative group. You may need to contact your network administrator to modify permissions for your user account.
