Install PI AF Application Service on a separate machine

Be familiar with the name and, if appropriate, instance, of the SQL Server machine that is, or is designated to serve as the primary replica of the availability group. You will be prompted to enter this information during the installation.

Install the PI AF Application Service on a machine that is not included in the Windows Server failover cluster.

1. Run the PI Server install kit.

2. Select the Individual Features tab.

   The Individual Features tab appears.

3. Select the PI AF Application Service only.

   This will ensure that this will install only the PI AF Application Service will be installed on this computer.

4. Click Next to proceed with the setup.

   The SQL Server Connection window appears.

5. When prompted, specify the name and, if appropriate, instance, of the SQL Server machine that is designated as the primary replica of the availability group.

6. Change the PI AF Application Service to run under a domain account that belongs to a domain group.

7. Click Next and continue to run through the install kit prompts that remain until the installation of the PI AF Application Service is complete.
