Configure logging

Notifications message logs contain useful information to troubleshoot issues with PI Notifications Service. Adjusting the severity level and verbosity of message logs can assist with identifying issues more easily and better troubleshooting.

At the end of installation, the notifications folder contains the PINotifications.exe.config file for each process and the Notifications.UserNLog.config file for NLog configuration, a popular logging tool for troubleshooting.

Caution: Increasing the debug level from the default can flood the logs and decrease performance. Do not leave the debug level higher than the default for longer than necessary.
