CONNECT is the platform on which AVEVA offers its cloud services. Registering CONNECT as the external Identity provider (IdP) enables you to grant CONNECT users and groups access to PI Server resources.
CONNECT can delegate authentication to Identity providers that support SAML 2, OpenID Connect, ADFS or Microsoft Entra ID. This delegation is available to enterprise customers who are the registered owner of the email domain of their users. See the CONNECT documentation for more information.
To configure CONNECT to work with the AVEVA Identity Manager, add the Administrator's user account as a user on the integration instance of CONNECT.
Once your account is authorized, complete these tasks:
-
Configure the application and access token required by the AVEVA Identity Manager.
-
Register the endpoints with the AVEVA Identity Manager using the PCS Powershell cmdlets.
Note: For information on configuring the AVEVA Identity Manager to use Microsoft Entra ID as an external identity provider, see Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
