Understand what to do if using only PI AF

When you upgrade to PI Server 2010 or later versions, the setup program prompts you to specify a PI AF server and it also asks if you want to enable PI MDB. If you enable PI MDB, then you can access part or all of your PI AF Database through PI MDB-based applications.

Note: Some PI products do not work properly if PI MDB is disabled.
