Prior to an upgrade, generate a new license file only if you are changing the hardware of your primary member's host machine, or if you have changed your licensing agreement with AVEVA.
-
Complete the software and/or hardware upgrade on the primary Data Archive member host machine. See Upgrade a Data Archive server.
-
Check the License Percent Match on the primary member to examine if the existing license file is still valid for the upgraded host machine.
-
If the license percent match is 100%, no further action is required for licensing.
-
If the license percent match is less than 100%, generate a new license file for the primary member. See Generate a license activation file for a standalone deployment.
-
-
Copy the license file (pilicense.dat) from the primary member onto each secondary Data Archive member host machine.
