The following MES components must be configured on the MES Server using the post-install Configurator application:

  • Database Setup

  • DB/MW Communication

  • Middleware Proxy

  • Web Portal, which is only required for MES Performance (Web Portal must be used to define production lines)

For complete configuration instructions, see the MES Installation Guide or online help.

Setting the Local Time Zone

By default, the time zone setting that is stored in the MES database is the time zone of the server on which it is installed. To avoid time zone-related issues, make sure that the correct local time zone is set.

On the Production tab of the MES DB/MW Communication component:

  1. Click the Validate button. This sets the time zone to the one that is stored in the MES database.

  2. If necessary, change it by selecting the appropriate time zone from the Default Time Zone list.

  3. Click Configure.
