AIM login error: Server could not be contacted.

If you get the error message The server could not be contacted:

  • Restart the web browser.

  • Make sure you are using the host's fully qualified domain name in the URL of the web application you are trying to open.

  • Check that the AVEVA Identity Manager service is running.

  • Check that the Active Directory domain controller is accessible on the network.

To verify that the Domain Controller is connected and running

  1. From the node on which you are running the web application, open the Windows Command shell (run cmd) as Administrator.

  2. Enter nltest /sc_query:DChost, where DChost is the host name of the node on which the Domain Controller is running.

If the command returns Trusted DC Connection Status Status = 0 0x0 NERR_Success, the nodes are connected and communicating correctly.
