Finalize the results for a sample

You can indicate that a sample has been finalized. When a sample is marked as finalized, its characteristic result records cannot be modified.

Note: Once a sample is finalized, while it appears that you can edit the sample results, results cannot be saved and the following error message will appear: Cannot edit a sample that has a status of MISSED or is Final .

You can also undo the finalized indication.

Finalize a sample

1. Select the sample.

2. Select Finalize.

   

3. Optionally change the finalize time from the current time, which is entered by default.

4. Select Apply.

   The sample is marked as finalized, as indicated by the time entered in the Finalized At field in the Details panel.

   Also the Finalize button changes to Undo Final for the sample.

Undo the finalized indication

5. Select the sample.

6. Select Undo Final.

   

7. Select Apply.

   The finalized indication is removed.

   Also, the Undo Final button changes to Finalize for the sample.
