Scrap inventory

Scrap inventory to reflect the disposal of scrap materials or waste product. You can scrap some of the inventory in an item lot at a location or all of the item's inventory at a location. To scrap inventory:

  1. In the grid, select the item inventory record with the lot and location from which you want to scrap inventory.

  2. In the toolbar, select the Scrap button.

    The scrap inventory properties appear in the action panel.

  3. Select the scope of the inventory to be scrapped: Selected Lot or Entire Location.

  4. If you selected Selected Lot, in the Scrap Qty box, enter the quantity of the selected lot to be scrapped.

    Note: If the item inventory record that you selected has no lot number assigned, then the quantity of inventory to be scrapped will be applied to all inventory records of that item at the storage entity, regardless of whether the item's inventory records have a lot number specified.

    If you selected Entire Location, all of the item's inventory at the current location will be scrapped, regardless of lot number or quantities.

  5. In the Reason list, select the reason for scrapping the inventory.

  6. Select Scrap.

    The item's inventory is reduced by the quantity you entered, and that quantity of item is marked as waste.
