Select a work order in the grid on which to base the property settings of the new work order.
You can select an existing work order on which to base the new work order. When the new work order is opened in the Action panel, the WO ID and Due Date properties are empty and the Release Date defaults to the current time. However, all other property settings default to those of the selected work order in the grid. You can edit the pre‑populated settings as needed for the new work order.
-
Select the New button.
The Create Work Order panel appears.

-
Select whether to create the work order from a line or a process.

If the Line option is selected, a Line list appears. Selecting a line option requires that at least one line has been created (this is performed using MES Web Portal).
If the Process option is selected, a Process list appears. Selecting a process option requires that at least one process has been created (this is performed using MES Client).
-
Select the line or process on which to base the work order.
The properties to be defined for the new work order appear in the panel. Some properties are pre-populated based on the line or process that was selected.
-
Enter or edit the property values for the work order.
Required properties are indicated by a red vertical line to the left of the entry box.

The line on which to base the work order.
Process (for work orders from processes)
The process on which to base the work order.
Spec Version (for work orders from processes)
The job specification version to use when the jobs for the work order are created.
Job specifications are used to provide target, minimum, and maximum setting values for operations being executed by jobs during run time.

The manufacturing order ID. Manufacturing order ID identifies the manufacturing order to which this work order belongs. A manufacturing order ID can be used to access related work orders (common customer, purpose, and so on).

Select the

For a work order created from a line, you can filter the list by item ID, description, or class. The filter is not available if the work order was created from a process.

The BOM version to use for this work order. The BOM version specifies the components that are consumed to produce the parent item, any by-products of that production, and default values for several production settings.
Start Qty.
The amount of product planned to make to compensate for rejects.
The last operation in the work order starts with the starting quantity. If the starting quantity is left at its default of 0, and a required quantity is specified, the starting quantity will be changed to be equal to the required quantity. The start quantity must be equal to or greater than the required quantity. The maximum value that can be entered is 2,147,483,647.
Required Qty.
The required quantity of produced items.
Required quantity is the total quantity that must be produced by all jobs in the last operation of a work order. The maximum value that can be entered is 2,147,483,647.
Release Date
The date and time for the release of the first job.
The release date and time is used by the system to change the first job in the work order from New to Ready. It is also used to set the required dates of the jobs. The work order required date is assigned to the jobs in the last operation.
For work orders created from a process, if the release date is the current time, then the work order is immediately put in the Ready state.
Due Date
The planned work order completion date and time.
