View and manage quality samples

You view and manage the current, past, and the future quality samples and the results for the characteristics assigned to the samples from the Sample tab. The sample summary area at the top of the page displays the active samples as a card collection. Samples are also listed in grid format.

Sample Summary Area

Provides a card collection of samples with a status of Ready, Ready Warning, In Progress, and Late. Also provides additional information about the selected sample (see Sample summary).

This area can be collapsed to hide it.

Action buttons

Details

Display details for the selected sample in a Details panel.

Edit

Edit information about the selected sample.

New

Create a new sample.

Pull/Undo Pull toggle button

If the selected sample has not been pulled and its status is Ready or Ready Warning, the label is Pull. The button allows you to pull the sample to record its result measurements.

If the selected sample is currently pulled, the label is Undo Pull. The button allows you to undo the pulled state.

Finalize/Undo Final toggle button

If the selected sample is not in the finalized state, the label is Finalize. The button allows you to set the sample state to finalized, which prevents any changes to its characteristic result records.

If the selected sample is currently in the finalized state, the label is Undo Final. The button allows you to clear the finalized state. Changes can then be made to its characteristic result records.

Cancel

Cancels the selected sample.

Refresh

Refresh the Summary area and grid.

Help

Opens the Quality Management form help.

Filter control

Select the Filter button to open the Filter panel. The panel includes properties by which to filter the samples in the grid. See Filter the sample cards and grid.

Sample grid

The current samples for the applied filters are displayed in this grid. The grid appears with the action panel by default. When the panel is closed, the grid expands and occupies the space where the panel appears.

Action panel

The contents of the action panel changes, depending on what task is currently being performed in the tab.

  • If a sample is selected, its details properties appear here, for viewing only.

  • When editing a sample, its properties appear here for editing.

  • When filtering the samples in the grid, the filter properties appear here.
