Note: The Spec tab is available only if an MES Operations license has been installed.

Job specifications are used to provide target, minimum, and maximum setting values for operations being executed by jobs during run time.

One or more specifications can be assigned to an operation in a process. Specifications can be of the following types:

  • Entity specification, such as the target, minimum, and maximum roasting temperatures for a roaster.

  • BOM specification, such as the target, minimum, and maximum roasting temperatures that vary depending on the BOM version being used.

  • Item or item class specification, such as the target, minimum, and maximum length for the item being produced by the job.

When a work order is created from a process, the specifications assigned to an operation change to a job specification.

The Spec tab is available when a work order on the WO/PO tab is selected. It lists all the job specifications for the selected work order, regardless of specification type.
