Inventory grid and action panel properties

The following list describes the properties and fields available in the inventory grid and action panel. The properties are used to view, edit, and manage inventory records.
Note: To prevent unexpected behavior, inventory property values cannot contain special characters such as % _ ^ [ ] & \ < "
Comments
Comments about the action being performed.
This box displays only if the MES Log inventory transfers system parameter (system attr 198) is set to true (yes). When inventory is received, transferred, split, or combined, records are inserted in the MES database Item_Transfer table. When inventory is scrapped, records are inserted into the Item_Cons table.
Destination
The location to which inventory is being transferred.
Expiry Date
Optional. The expiration date and time for the lot to which the item belongs.
If an expiry date and time is entered, a lot number for the item should also be entered.
Inventory Spare 1 to Spare 4
Spare fields for recording information specific to your organization about the inventory.
Item
The item of the selected inventory record.
If you are selecting an item, click the browse button to open the Select Item dialog.

In the Select Item dialog, you can use the Item, Item Desc, and Item Class boxes to filter the list.
Item Class
The item class to which the item belongs. An item class is a logical grouping of items that share common characteristics, such as physical properties or how they are used during production (for example, Intermediate Materials or Packaging Materials).
Item Grade
The item grade defines the quality condition of the item. It allows you to track the quality of an instance of the item, typically by lot. For example, a Normal grade could be used to indicate an item that is acceptable as produced or consumed by an operation. A Scraps grade could be used to indicate that the item was rejected during production or was waste during consumption.
Item State
The state of the item within the production process. For example, a Raw Materials state could indicate items that are in inventory and have not yet been used in a production operation. A WIP (work-in-progress) state indicates items that are produced during an operation but that are not finished products. A Finished Product state indicates items whose production is complete and that are shippable.
Location
The storage entity at which the item is being stored.
If you are selecting a location, click the browse button to open the Select Location dialog.

Lot
The lot number for the item.
Qty
The item quantity of the selected inventory record, or the quantity being received or reclassified.
Reason
The reason to explain the scrapping of inventory.
Received Date
The date on which the item was initially received into inventory.
Scrap Qty
The amount of item inventory being scrapped.
Spare 1 to Spare 4
Spare fields for recording information specific to your organization.
Sublot
The sublot number for the item.
Transfer Qty
The amount of item inventory being transferred to another location.
Units
The item's unit of measure.
