Prior to installing Work Tasks, the following prerequisites should be met:

  • MES is installed and configured to use OS User or OS Group security (in MES Client, the Security Mode setting in General Parameters, Security section). Do not use MES Native security mode. See Configuring the Initial MES User and Setting the MES Security Mode.

  • You have one and only one System Management Server configured in your system. See Configure the System Management Server.

  • The nodes in your system are members of the same Active Directory domain.

  • If you have a multi-node system, Platform Common Services are at the same release level on all nodes.

  • Your web browser has pop-ups and redirects enabled.

Web browser pop-up and redirect settings.

  • If you are upgrading Work Tasks and a prior version of the MES model-driven application Job Management package has been installed, it is recommended that you remove the MDMUtilSplitForm form and any custom forms that use the Split Control before performing the upgrade. Otherwise, errors will be displayed in the Work Tasks Upgrade Wizard during the Work Tasks upgrade and logged. Note that these errors will not affect Work Tasks operations.

The Split Control has been deprecated and replaced by the SplitEvent web widget, which is included in the latest Job Management package. For more information, see The Split control is deprecated.
