Check TCP response for HTTP status code 200

  • Last UpdatedJan 13, 2023
  • 1 minute read

If you successfully access content on a server that is running IIS, IIS will return a status code of 200 as part of the TCP response. Therefore, to monitor if a server is accessible and IIS is running, you can configure your hardware load balancer to periodically access the server and check the TCP response for this status code. IIS also records the status code in its log.

This check does not verify the availability of the AF application service or the AVEVA PI Vision service.

Note: IIS is not installed by default when you install AF, therefore when using AF, you need to manually install IIS to use this method. If you use the Acknowledgement Web Page functionality of PI Notifications, IIS is automatically installed.
