Start secondary servers

  1. Start each secondary Data Archive server in the collective.

    • Run the pisrvstart.bat file in the ..\PI\adm directory.

      When the secondary server starts, it connects to the primary server, reports its status, receives the status of other servers in the collective, and retrieves configuration changes made on the primary server.

  2. If the secondary server stores the primary archive in a different directory than the primary server, register the archives.

    1. Open a command prompt window on the computer that hosts the secondary server.

    2. Navigate to the ..\PI\adm directory.

    3. Type:

      piartool -ar \pathname\filename

      where pathname is the path to the archive file and filename is the name of the archive file.

  3. Set tuning and firewall parameters.
