PI to PI interface and high availability

The PI to PI interface copies time-series data from one Data Archive to another Data Archive. This interface moves data in only one way—from a source server to a target server, and can be useful in the following less typical high availability scenarios:
-
In a Data Archive collective, if an interface cannot connect to all collective members and you cannot use n-way buffering to distribute the data, you might use PI to PI to copy time-series data from the primary server to a secondary server.
-
If you have multiple collectives, you can use PI to PI to copy data between collectives and aggregate that data. For example, you might have a collective that collects data at each plant, and have a separate collective at your headquarters that gathers key indicators from the plants.
