  1. Stop the PI AF Link Subsystem service on the new primary Data Archive server.

Note the Log On As user for the PI AF Link Subsystem service (this is the aflink user).

  2. Open a command prompt, navigate to the ..\PI\bin directory, and type:

    piaflink -fixafmdbmap

  3. Give the aflink user read/write permissions to the pimdbafmapping.dat file in the ..\PI\dat folder.

  4. If the aflink user is a domain account and the same user that ran PI AF Link Subsystem on the old primary Data Archive server, then skip the next two steps.

  5. If PI AF server is on a different machine than the new primary Data Archive server:

    1. On the PI AF server machine, find the local Windows group with the name AF Link to PI-Old Server where Old Server is the name of the old primary Data Archive server.

    2. Rename this local Windows group to AF Link to PI-New Server where New Server is the name of the new primary Data Archive server.

    3. If the aflink user is a domain account, then add the aflink user as a member of this local Windows group.

    4. If the aflink user is Network Service, then add the machine account name of the new primary Data Archive server as a member of this local Windows group.

    5. If the aflink user is a local user on the new primary Data Archive machine, then create the same user with the same password on the AF Server machine and add that local user to the local group on the AF Server machine.

  6. If AF Server is on the same machine as the new primary Data Archive server:

    1. Find the local Windows group with the name AF Link to PI-Old Server where Old Server is the name of the old primary Data Archive server.

    2. Rename this local Windows group to AF Link to PI-New Server where New Server is the name of the new primary Data Archive server.

    3. Add the aflink user as a member of this local Windows group.

  7. Restart the PI Base Subsystem service on the new primary Data Archive server.

  8. Start the PI AF Link Subsystem service on the new primary Data Archive server.
