Control PI Data Archive stand-alone mode

You can put a Data Archive server into stand-alone mode if you need to isolate that server, such as to perform emergency maintenance. In stand-alone mode the Data Archive server closes all existing connections from clients and interfaces, and does not allow any new connections. When the server is in stand-alone mode tools such as PI SMT cannot connect to the server. The server is essentially shut down.

Command-based tools can connect locally to a server in stand-alone mode. You must explicitly end stand-alone mode. Restarting the Data Archive server does not bring it out of stand-alone mode.

Note: Stand-alone mode is useful for low-level maintenance tasks, such as editing an attribute set or point class. You must return the server to normal mode after using stand-alone mode in a production environment.
