Buffering and High Availability

Collectives

A collective is a configuration of multiple Data Archive servers that act as a logical Data Archive server in your AVEVA™ PI System™ to provide high availability (HA), disaster recovery, load distribution, and increased scalability.

Each server in a collective is called a member of the collective. When the primary member in a collective becomes unavailable, a secondary collective member continues to collect and provide data access to your PI clients.
