Confirm applications to buffer

Buffering Manager automatically detects interfaces on this computer, determines which Data Archive servers they connect to, and displays them in the Detected PI Interfaces pane.

1. If all of the interfaces for which you want to configure buffering are displayed, click Next and skip the steps below.

2. Click the Select a service link.

3. In the Select Service window, find and select the interfaces to buffer, then click OK.

   If needed, you can sort the list of interfaces by clicking any column heading.

   The interfaces you added are highlighted in the Detected PI Interfaces pane.

4. When the list of interfaces to buffer is complete, click Next.

   When buffering configuration is complete, each of the interfaces listed will have a dependency on PI Buffer Subsystem. In other words, PI Buffer Subsystem must start before each of the listed interfaces can start. This dependency is a required part of buffering configuration.

Buffering Manager automatically restarts PI Buffer Subsystem when:

• You reach the Verification pane at the end of the upgrade process

• With PI Buffer Subsystem already running, you use Buffering Manager to change the account used to run the PI Buffer Subsystem service
