Replication and archive management

The replication process automatically manages archives. When you initialize or reinitialize a secondary server, the process automatically registers the archives in the location that you specified when you added the secondary server to the collective.

You can place archive files on a storage-area network (SAN) drive. Multiple servers can mount the same archives. For example, this might be useful if you have many old archives and you want all the servers in the Data Archive collective to access them. In this case, you should place the archives in a read-only partition.

You can configure Data Archive collectives to schedule archive shifts. Perform the configuration on the primary server, and the will cascade to all members.
