Schedule archive shifts in collective manager

In collective manager, select your collective.

Click Attributes.

Click Shift Schedule.

Select either Natural, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

With daily configuration, shifts happen at midnight every day. With weekly duration, shifts happen at Sunday midnight every week. With monthly duration, shifts happen at the midnight of the first day of every month. Natural shifting allows the shifts to happen without scheduling (automatically.)

With scheduled archive shifts, we do not recommend Archive_AutoArchiveFileSize being set. When it is not set, PI Archive Subsystem will automatically calculate the archive size based on past data rate and the shift duration.

To check and remove this setting using SMT, open SMT.

Click Operation.

Click Archives.

In the main panel, with the Historic tab selected, click Review and update parameters.

Check the value in the Auto create (MB) box. If it is set, clear it and click Save.

In a collective, if the primary is not in the same time zone as a secondary member, shifting on the secondary is based on the primary's time zone.
