The Supervisory console header.

By default, the Supervisory console header contains:

Navigation tree

The navigation tree is a hierarchical tool within the Supervisory console that allows supervisors to browse through the entire equipment structure—ranging from individual machines to entire plants or multiple sites. It provides full visibility and access to all equipment in the system, enabling efficient navigation and management of operations directly from the console. The active hierarchy is displayed on the top line of the console header.

Configurable header content

The configurable header content can be customized to display additional information based on the specific needs of the user or solution. This section can be configured to show context-relevant content—such as job progress indicators, performance metrics, or other operational data.

The displayed content is determined by configuration rules defined in the composition engine, allowing different modules to dynamically adjust what appears in the header.

Configurable tabs

The Supervisory console includes a set of configurable tabs that provide access to various management and monitoring functions. These tabs are tailored to the needs of supervisory users and can be customized based on user roles and project requirements. Important details about the tabs include:

  • No Task tab: Unlike the Operator console, the Supervisory console does not include a Task tab.

  • Optional tabs: It supports all other optional tabs, which can include:

    • Job management

    • Work order management

    • Downtime tracking

    • Dashboards and KPIs

    • Any other use cases defined by the project team

  • Access control: The visibility and content of these tabs depend on the user’s access rights.

  • Custom use cases: Tabs can be linked to AVEVA standard use cases or custom use cases developed for the specific MES solution.
