Create a new work order

  1. Select the Create Work Order panel button.

    The Create Work Order use case details open. The following standard properties are available:

    • Create WO for: Assign the work order to either a Line or Process.

    • Line: The line or process to assign to the work order,

    • Item: The item being produced by the work order.

    • Starting Quantity: The number of items the work order is expected to produce if there is no rejected production.

      If the starting quantity is left at its default of 0, and a required quantity is specified, the starting quantity will be changed to be equal to the required quantity. The start quantity must be equal to or greater than the required quantity.

    • Required Quantity: The number of items that must be produced to fulfill the work order.

      The required quantity is the total quantity that must be produced by all jobs in the last operation of a work order. The maximum value that can be entered is 999,999.

    • Release Date: (Read-only) The expected (default) date and time for the release of the first job from the work order.

      The release date is used by the system to change the first job in the work order from NEW to READY. It is also used to set the required dates of the jobs. The work order required date is assigned to the jobs in the last operation.

    • Due Date: The planned work order completion date and time.

    • Customer: The name or account number of the customer who placed the order.

  2. Select Save to create the work order.
