Merge inventory

Use the Merge Inventory use case details to combine multiple inventory items into a single, consolidated lot. This is useful when similar materials—such as those with matching item types, grades, and states—need to be grouped for streamlined handling, storage, or processing.

Merge inventory

Select the Merge Inventory panel button.

The Merge Inventory use case details open.

Filter the inventory records to be merged from the material lots list:

To select inventory from all locations, select All Locations.

To select inventory from a filtered list of specific locations, select Selected Locations Only.

In the Combined Quantity field of each record to be merged, enter the amount of material to merge.

In the Location field, select the location where the merged inventory is stored.

In the Lot field, specify the merged inventory lot number.

If the lot number entered is new, do one of the following:

To update the material grade, material state, or expiry date, select Update. Review and update the following properties:
Item Grade: Quality of the inventory.
Item State: Condition of the inventory.
Expiry State: If applicable, the expiration date of the merged inventory.

To keep the existing material grade, material state, and expiry date, select Retain.

Select Merge.
Note: Select Cancel to cancel the operation if needed.
The inventory list updates immediately to reflect the merged inventory.
