Install Composable MES using the CMES installer tool

Use the CMES installer to automate the installation of Composable MES. The installer ensures that all necessary modules are automatically deployed correctly, with the exception of the Work Tasks Package, which requires manual installation.

Install Composable MES using the CMES installer

  1. Download the Composable MES package and complete the installation prerequisite activities unblocking and extracting the contents of the Composable MES package.

  2. Navigate to the extracted package's Installer folder.

  3. Select CMESIntaller file, open the shortcut menu, and select Run as administrator.

  4. Select the Installation tab and complete the following to configure the database connection:

    1. In the Database field, enter the database name (for example, MESDB).

    2. Select Check Connection.

      A green status indicator is displayed once the test connection is successful.

  5. To choose the root installation folder, select the Select Root folder ellipsis (...).

  6. Browse to the location of the installation package, select the folder containing extracted modules, and then select OK.

    Note: Verify the installation paths for each module by selecting each one and reviewing the Source Path and Destination Path. By default, the CMES installer is configured to point the destination path to the C:\ drive. If the path is any other drive (e.g., D:\), then update the Config.xml with the correct information prior to proceeding with the installation.

  7. Install each module in the order indicated below.

    • Frame Template (FT)

    • Operator Console (TD)

    • Supervisor Console (SC)

    • Other modules and use cases.

    To install each module:

    1. Select the module in the Module Folders dropdown.

    2. Select Run to install the selected module.

    The installer will copy all the files from the package to the appropriate Work Tasks product folders.

  8. Import and then install the Work Task package manually.

  9. After successfully completing the installs for all Composable MES modules, restart IIS.
