Transfer inventory

Use the Transfer Inventory use case details to move inventory from one location to another within the MES system. This function supports both targeted transfers of specific lots and bulk transfers of all inventory from a location, helping maintain accurate stock records and streamline material flow.

Transfer inventory

  1. Select the Transfer Inventory panel button.

    The Transfer Inventory use case details open.

  2. To transfer part of the inventory:

    1. Select Selected Lot.

    2. Update the following inventory transfer properties:

      Transfer Quantity: Amount to be transferred.

      Destination: The location the lot is being transferred to.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  3. To transfer all of the inventory:

    1. Select Entire Location.

    2. Update the following inventory transfer properties:

      Destination: The location the lot is being transferred to.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  4. Review the following (read-only) inventory properties:

    • Location: Where the inventory is currently stored.

    • Item: Description of the material or product.

    • Quantity: Available quantity for transfer.

    • Lot number (no.): Unique identifier for a specific batch of items that were produced under similar conditions.

    • Sub lot number (no.): Unique identifier for a subdivision of a lot number, used to track smaller, distinct portions of a larger inventory batch.

  5. Select Transfer.

    The inventory list updates immediately to reflect the transferred inventory.
