AVEVA™ Composable and Model Driven MES

Supervisory console use case details area

  • Last UpdatedOct 15, 2025
  • 1 minute read

The use case detail area in the Supervisory console is a configurable workspace where supervisors interact with management-level MES use cases. Unlike the Operator Console, which focuses on task execution for specific equipment, this area provides broader access to operational data and control functions across the production environment.

Each use case detail presents a structured interface with relevant information and controls tailored to supervisory tasks. These may include job management, work order tracking, downtime analysis, performance dashboards, and others. The content is dynamically configured based on several contextual factors, such as:

  • The selected equipment or plant area (via the navigation tree)

  • The current and historical status of production activities

  • The role and access rights of the supervisory user

  • The specific use case being accessed (e.g., job progress, downtime resolution)

  • Other contextual information

This configuration is managed through a central configuration table, ensuring that supervisors see only the most relevant and actionable content for their responsibilities.

The use case detail area supports a wide range of MES supervisory activities—from reviewing job queues and managing exceptions to analyzing trends and initiating corrective actions. In the following example, the Supervisory console standard Performance Management use case is displayed.

For more information on the available standard use cases, see the related Composable MES use case documentation.
