Split inventory

Use the Split Inventory use case details to divide the selected inventory item lot into smaller sub-lots. This is useful when part of a lot needs to be used, moved, or reclassified, while maintaining traceability and control over each portion.

Split inventory

  1. Select the Split Inventory panel button in the Inventory Management panel.

  2. In the Split Quantity field, enter the amount of inventory to be split.

  3. To create a new lot for the split inventory:

    1. Select Use New Lot.

    2. Review and update the following split inventory properties:

      Location: Where the inventory is stored.

      Item: Description of the material or product.

      Quantity: (read-only) Available quantity for splitting.

      Lot number: A unique lot identifier for the split inventory.

      Sublot number: A unique identifier for the subdivision of a lot number.

      Grade: Quality of the split inventory.

      State: Condition of the split inventory.

      Expiry date: If applicable, the expiration date of the split inventory.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  4. To use the existing lot for the split inventory:

    1. Select Use Current Lot.

    2. Review and update the following split inventory properties:

      Location: Where the inventory is stored.

      Item: Description of the material or product.

      Quantity: (Read-only) Available quantity for splitting.

      Lot number: (Read-only) The unique lot identifier for the inventory.

      Sublot number: A unique identifier for the subdivision of a lot number.

      Grade: Quality of the split inventory.

      State: Condition of the split inventory.

      Expiry date: If applicable, the expiration date of the split inventory.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  5. Select Split.

    The inventory list updates immediately to reflect the split.
