Scrap inventory

Use the Scrap Inventory use case details to remove unusable, damaged, or obsolete inventory from the system. This function ensures that only valid, usable stock remains in circulation and supports traceability and compliance with quality standards.

Scrap inventory

  1. Select the Scrap Inventory panel button.

    The Scrap Inventory use case details open.

  2. To remove a specific amount from the inventory:

    1. Select By Inventory.

    2. Update the following properties:

      Scrap Quantity: Amount to be removed.

      Reason: The reason code for the removal.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  3. To remove all the inventory at the specified location:

    1. Select Entire Location.

    2. Update the following properties:

      Reason: The reason code for the removal.

      Comments: Optional notes for context or clarification.

  4. Review the following (read-only) inventory properties:

    • Location: Where the inventory is currently stored.

    • Item description: Description of the material or product.

    • Quantity: Available quantity for transfer.

    • Lot number (no.): Unique identifier for a specific batch of items that were produced under similar conditions.

    • Sub lot number (no.): Unique identifier for a subdivision of a lot number, used to track smaller, distinct portions of a larger inventory batch.

  5. Select Scrap.

    The inventory list updates immediately to reflect the scrapped inventory.
