Create a sample

Use the Create Sample use case details to manually generate a new quality sample entry. This is useful when a sample needs to be added outside of the automated schedule or when additional testing is required.

Create a sample

1. Select the Create Sample panel button.

   The Create Sample use case details open.

2. Enter values for the following properties:

   • Specification (required): The quality specification the sample is based on.

   • Location (required): The equipment or area where the sample is taken.

   • Work Order: Linked production order.

   Note: If a value isn't entered and a work order is currently associated with a job that is running on the Location specified, then that work order will also be associated with the sample when the sample record is saved to the database.

   • Item ID: Identifier of the item being sampled.

   • Create Time: Option to set the sample time to now or a custom time.

   • Date Time: The specific timestamp for the sample.

3. Select Save.

   The sample is immediately displayed in the sample list.
