Seeds List

Seed List drawings are used by Designer to create Termination Diagrams and Enhanced Termination Reports. AVEVA Instrumentation requires specific parameters to enable them to be generated. These parameters are set in the Seed File Parameters window.

Notes: Different types of Seed File are used for ECDB drawings. Refer to Enhanced Cable Block Diagram Seeds List for details.

For other types of drawing (see Add a New Drawing), seed files can be used instead of templates. In such cases, the aspects of the seed files relating to terminations are not relevant; the seed files are simply used to define the basic layout etc. of the drawings in the same way as template.

To open the Seeds list window

1. Click Select in the Grids and Schedules section of the Home tab.

2. Select Seeds from the list of grids that is then displayed.

   The Seeds grid is then displayed, which contains a list of all Seed files for the project.

   

   Note: Refer to Working with the Data Grid for information on the grid control including how to select a record.

   This window contains a list of all Seed drawing files added to the project database through this window.

   Note: Ensure that a Seed file is copied (or saved in AutoCAD) to the project Seed folder with the same file name as the 'Seed File' name entered in the Seed List otherwise Designer cannot use the Seed drawing to generate termination drawings. This should automatically be the case if the procedure for adding new Seed Files (see below) is followed.

   This Seed Drawings List contains the settings used by Designer when Termination Diagrams and Enhanced Termination Reports are parametrically created.
