Unlock Grids Locked by Excel Imports

A grid cannot be imported into from Excel by more than one user a time. The grid will be locked to other users during the import process. However, if an import process is interrupted unexpectedly, for example, by a server problem, a power cut, the grid may remain locked. A facility is therefore provided to unlock grids locked by Excel import processes.

1. Select Project > Unlock Excel Import. The Unlock Excel Import window is then displayed:

   

   The window lists all grids currently locked due at an Excel import process.

2. To unlock a grid, select it and click Unlock.

   Only one grid can be unlocked at a time.

   A message is then displayed warning the user that if the import is still ongoing, duplicate records could be created in the database by additional imports to that grid.

3. Click Yes to confirm the unlocking of the grid.
