You can apply Microsoft Excel style filters. To activate this facility, select the Excel style filtering checkbox in the Grid Options section of the View Tab in AVEVA Instrumentation. You must select the Column filtering checkbox before the Excel style filtering checkbox is selected.

To apply a Microsoft Excel style filter to a column

  1. Hover the cursor over the filter row field for that column and click on the button that is then displayed at the end of the field.

    The following window displays.

The window lists all the values in the column, plus All and Blanks.

  2. Next to each item in the list, there is a checkbox.

    1. To filter out a value from the column, clear its checkbox.

    2. To deselect all values, clear the All checkbox.

    3. Select the All checkbox again to select all the checkboxes once more.

If the Blanks checkbox is selected, rows without a value in the column display when you apply the filter.

  3. When the required filter conditions have been selected, click OK to close the window and apply the filter.

The filter is applied. The value that the column is being filtered by is displayed in the filtering row field for the column. If the column is being filtered by multiple values or by a text filter (see below), Custom is displayed.

  4. To edit an Microsoft Excel style filter, access the Excel style window filter again and change the filter criteria as required.

  5. To clear the filter, click Clear Filter. Refer to Remove Filtering for more information.

Text Filters

More advanced filters can be applied by clicking Text Filters. A list of text filtering criteria is then display, plus Custom Filter.

  1. Click the required criterion.

  2. The advanced filtering window then displays with the criterion selected in the Criteria field and the current column selected in the Field field.

If the Custom Filter option is selected, the advanced filtering window is displayed without the Criteria field being completed.
